May Goal: Success!

Final word count: 25,545.

Now that feels nice!

I didn’t hit 30,000 words, which was one part of my goal. But I did meet the most important goal: I wrote the entire first draft of a novella in May. All twenty-four chapters are there, and they’re in pretty decent shape for a first draft.

I’ll set this project aside for a few weeks now. I need a little space. 🙂

My reward for all of this hard work? I set a special book aside, one I’ve been waiting a long time to read. The Wise Man’s Fear, by Patrick Rothfuss. If you haven’t gotten into his Kingkiller Chronicle series, you’re missing out. His writing is absolutely amazing. You know the feeling you get when you hear a well-written song, where every word feels perfect in its place? He maintains that lyrical feel through an entire novel. I hope the second one is as good as the first. I’m gonna go find out!
