Wrapping Up Revisions on Vessel

In terms of word count this week, I have a big zero to report. Actually I think I snuck in 150 words one night before one of my kids needed something, and then I never got back to it.

However, I squeezed in tons of time with the paranormal romance novella I plan to publish this round, and made great progress! The past few weeks I’ve been taking the edits I made on paper and revising my manuscript. I decided this week to devote every block of time I could get to Vessel. I have three chapters to go! Of course I’ve thought of a couple of things I’d like to add, so I’ll take another run through just for fun. That means I’ll be getting it out to beta readers in the next few days.

I also need to carve out some time to focus on details of the release, which will be around December 1. I’m considering a blog tour either in December or January, and trying to decide how to handle that. I also have some changes I’d like to make to my blog — the first step was adding a domain name. Blogger makes this really simple, but I didn’t know that until I tried. So as you can see my url is now www.jrpearsenelson.com, instead of www.jrpearsenelson.blogspot.com. The old url still works, so it didn’t mess up any of my previously established links. I was hoping to do that before ordering business cards, and now it’s done. Another check on the to-do list. 🙂

  1. Remember, writing isn’t always about word count. It’s good that you managed to hit your edits pretty hard. As long as you’re making progress, be it word count or edits, I think you’re doing good. Keep it up.

  2. Even though word count was low, I don’t feel that is a real indicator of writing progress. It sounds like you had a great week with edits, upgrading your site and getting focused on publishing…all writerly tasks.

Very much understand about “kideruptions”. At least it is great to be needed, right? *grins*

    Have a great week 🙂

  3. Oh goody! I’m not the only one with a 0 word count this week!! I really hope to add up those numbers…TODAY.

If you found a good place to get business cards, let me know.

  4. December 1? That’s great! You’ve got a good flow going it sounds. I’m still typing… (although I’m approaching the half-way mark!)

    As for the Giveaway…
I’m scrambling a few ideas around. One of them is this…
For twelve days, we each feature one of the (hopefully) twelve books with links, blurbs, maybe author info or an interview…with a ‘Master List’ of all the books on our ‘Reading List’ posted.
    or
We have a more traditional Bloghop Giveaway with a 12 days of Christmas theme. This may get more traffic to our blogs…but then I’d have to get a good graphic and we’d have to advertise…which I have no experience/know-how with. Do you know anything about this?

    Anyhoo..(I’m long winded, too…ha!) Here’s my email.
nadja (dot) notariani (at) gmail (dot) com
drop me a line and we can maybe fire off some ideas back and forth if you’d like!
